Fundraising

Events and activities

In order to keep our premises and equipment in good shape, to offer our wide range of fun activities while at the same time keeping our subscriptions low, we run a number of fundraising events throughout the year.

We aim to provide events that are good value and fun to attend,  and we are very fortunate to have great support from the friends of the group who support our endeavours.

We have a busy fundraising calendar,  but are always keen to hear of ideas that may help us raise further money for the group.  Go on - let us know if you have an idea

2007 Fundraising....

A good start to the year with an unexpected grant being received by the Group,  a sum of £250 from BT's Community Fund.

Our first social of the year was an afternoon watching Wales beat England on our Big Screen.  Funds were raised from face painting, sales of Flags and Welsh hats, and the raffle of a Rugby Ball signed by the Welsh Rugby Team.  An excellent afternoon raising a total of £275.69 for the Group.

We were also pleased to support the Heath Park Rangers Football Club presentation day,  providing a bar and BBQ for the families of the players.  Blessed with excellent weather we managed to raise £372,  which was shared between HPR and the Scout Group,  which equals £186 to add to the kitty.

June 16th saw us supporting the School Fete with another BBQ - with another Profit - this time £140.

Thanks for all your support.....

Gift Aid  (Membership Subscriptions)

As part of the Government’s “Getting Britain Giving” campaign the Group Executive have registered with the Inland Revenue to operate a Gift Aid scheme for membership subscriptions.

How much is it worth to my group?

If your subscription is £100 per annum, it is actually worth £128.20 if the group claims back the tax (i.e. £128.20 gross is taxed at 22% tax leaving £100 net).

The group then claims the £28.20 tax back from the Inland Revenue.

This is worth approx £20 per child per annum to the group - a significant proportion of our annual income

We need to get one parent from each family to complete a declaration.
